Three years after the release of their acclaimed debut album Voyage, Norwegian progressive metal explorers Grant The Sun return with Biomes, a new full-length that the band considers their most ambitious, challenging, and fully realized work to date.

Over the years, Grant The Sun have built a reputation for crafting mesmerizing instrumental journeys that blur the boundaries between progressive metal, post-metal, and post-rock. With Biomes, the band push that approach even further, delivering a record shaped by technical precision, textured atmospheres, and a renewed sense of purpose.

Created over the course of the last year, the album emerged from an intense writing and rehearsal process driven by deadlines, experimentation, and a desire to challenge themselves creatively.

At the heart of Biomes lies a concept built around duality. Conceived as a two-part album, it explores two contrasting yet interconnected musical worlds. On one side are vast post-metal atmospheres, slow-burning passages, and captivating soundscapes. On the other are crushing progressive metal riffs, shifting rhythms, technical arrangements, and moments of explosive intensity.

Rather than opposing one another, these elements coexist throughout the album, creating a dynamic listening experience that moves between soaring atmospherics and crushing heaviness.

This dual identity is also reflected visually through the album artwork, which depicts a desert landscape merging seamlessly with a lush rainforest. The imagery serves as a metaphor for the album's musical landscape, where contrasting environments meet, evolve, and ultimately become one.
